On World Cancer Day 2015, UICC and its partner Pfizer launched the SPARC MBC Challenge, a first-of-its-kind initiative to address the unique challenges facing women with metastatic breast cancer worldwide. Meet one of the 20 awardees selected to receive a grant for their project.

Runcie C.W. Chidebe, 30 years old, is the Executive Director of the Health & Psychological Trust Centre in Nigeria, one of the 20 organisations around the world receiving a SPARC grant - an initiative launched in partnership with Pfizer - to address the issues facing women with metastatic breast cancer in their own country.

Ebru Tontas - Kanserle Dans Dernegi

Ebru Tontas, 43 years old, is co-founder and board member of Kanserle Dans Dernegi in Turkey, one of the 20 organisations around the world receiving a SPARC grant - an initiative launched in partnership with Pfizer - to address the issues facing women with metastatic breast cancer in their own country. Ebru is the project manager for the SPARC grant project.

Elections for the Board of Directors and President-Elect will take place on 1 November 2016 in Paris, France during the UICC General Assembly.

15 June 2016, Lyon, France - An international working group of 23 scientists convened by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), the cancer agency of the World Health Organization (WHO), has evaluated the carcinogenicity of drinking coffee, maté, and very hot beverages.
