The ‘Leadership in Action: Cancer control in Latin America’ meeting brought together 43 senior executives from 19 countries on Monday 13 November, at the 2017 World Cancer Leaders’ Summit in Mexico City, Mexico.

Update from the WHO's Special Session of the Executive Board, where UICC delivered a statement on behalf of the global cancer community highlighting the critical importance of addressing cancer and NCDs in WHO's next 5 year workplan.

ICCP meeting at 2017 WCLS

The International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP) met on 16 November in Mexico City, following the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit, to develop a strategic plan for the next five years to support global cancer control. Leslie Given, an expert in the development and implementation of national cancer control plans has been invited to share some of the meeting’s outcomes.

The ISNCC Nominations and Awards Committee is seeking input for the 2018 ISNCC Board of Directors election. In 2018, three Board of Director Portfolio positions are open for election.

The 2017 World Cancer Leaders’ Summit, hosted by the National Cancer Institute of Mexico (INCan), convened 350 global cancer and public health leaders over three days in Mexico City to discuss ways and solutions to transform cities commitments in cancer prevention and care into further national action by 2025.

The Young Leaders Programme, UICC’s flagship initiative to nurture young professionals to become successful leaders in cancer control, started in earnest at the 2017 World Cancer Leaders Summit in Mexico City.

The call for proposals the new UICC fellowship opportunity for Africa will close in less than a week’s time, on Thursday 30 November 2017.
