About the role  

We are looking for a World Cancer Day Campaign Assistant to join the UICC Communication and Marketing team in Geneva, Switzerland to provide support in delivering the new 2025 World Cancer Day campaign.  

Job responsibilities will include, but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Delivering an excellent level of service to our World Cancer Day supporters, including:

  • Taking care of the World Cancer Day inbox on a daily basis (drafting and responding to emails, answering questions, trouble shooting for supporters)  

  • Responding to World Cancer Day inquiries via the online chat

  • The timely publication of events and activities on the Map of Activities on worldcancerday.org

  • Editing and publishing user-generated stories on worldcancerday.org

  • Helping to ensure the quality of all World Cancer Day communication materials (proofreading, fact checking)

  • Supporting press and media activities through desk research

  • Providing support in social media engagement and posting (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Tiktok), content scheduling, monitoring and influencer outreach and follow-up in coordination with the Social Media Specialist

  • Assisting with the reporting of the campaign, including monitoring and documenting of World Cancer Day activities and events through desk research

  • Conducting keyword research for online content and AdWords optimisation

  • Assisting with general content creation for social media, email communications and news article writing

  • Facilitating enhanced visibility and engagement for the awareness day at the World Cancer Congress, held from September 17-19 in Geneva.

Requirements

  • Experience in communications, marketing, international relations, public health, etc.  

  • Experience in social media community management on the following platforms is a must: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok while experience creating live content and engaging with a live audience is highly valued.  

  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a must – proficiency in other languages such as French, Spanish, Chinese is an advantage 

  • Interest in global public health issues and in working in an international environment  

  • Excellent oral and writing skills including the ability to synthesise information  

  • Experience in web-editing, familiarity with Adobe InDesign is an advantage   

  • Service oriented   

  • Comfortable with different communication technologies, including webinars and livestreaming  

  • A dynamic individual who is able to adapt to ad-hoc, changing and diverse tasks   

  • Able to deliver quality results under time constraints in a fast-paced environment   

  • Able to work autonomously   

  • Highly organised with a strong attention to detail   

  • A valid permit to work in Switzerland required
