Nguyen Khanh Thuong - Founder of Breast Cancer Network VietNam has passed away

Mrs Nguyen, also known as Mrs Thuong Nguyen Sobey, died on Tuesday morning at the age of 32 after a three-year battle with breast cancer.

Thuong, founded Breast Cancer Network VietNam in March 2013, which later became a UICC Member Organisation.

She took part in the 2014 World Cancer Congress in Melbourne and took this opportunity to share her organisation's efforts in Viet Nam of increasing early detection and increasing life quality for women with breast cancer.

Mrs Sobey also took a very active part in World Cancer Day 2015 in a very personal way, by sharing her own photo album to voice the message that "Cancer is Not Beyond Us".

“She is now resting in peace but the work is still continuing,” the Network said on its Facebook page on Tuesday, “Millions of teenagers, volunteers and other young people throughout Vietnam and all over the world will definitely be following in her footsteps to fulfill her unfinished journeys.”
