The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is strengthening the capacity of its Geneva team for implementation of the next phase of its organisational strategic plan and is looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to lead and develop the newly established Capacity Building Team.
The Capacity Building Team will support UICC membership organisations and the global cancer community at large in building capabilities to address cancer control at a country level and amongst different spheres of influence.
The Director of Capacity Building will report directly to the CEO and will be part of UICC’s executive team. In addition to his/her line responsibilities, the successful candidate will work with the others in the executive team to deliver with excellence the three UICC core work streams: convening, capacity building and advocacy.
The position will be based in Geneva, Switzerland and includes responsibility for developing and implementing UICC’s capacity building offer that spans four key components, Fund Management; Fellowships and Workshops; Resources; and Education, that build on the robust foundation of UICCs 60+ years in funding and coordinating fellowships, producing globally recognised resources such as the TNM classification of malignant tumours and newer platforms such as the International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP) Portal.
