Director of Capacity Building

The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is strengthening the capacity of its Geneva team for implementation of the next phase of its organisational strategic plan and is looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to lead and develop the newly established Capacity Building Team.

The Capacity Building Team will support UICC membership organisations and the global cancer community at large in building capabilities to address cancer control at a country level and amongst different spheres of influence.

The Director of Capacity Building will report directly to the CEO and will be part of UICC’s executive team. In addition to his/her line responsibilities, the successful candidate will work with the others in the executive team to deliver with excellence the three UICC core work streams: convening, capacity building and advocacy.

The position will be based in Geneva, Switzerland and includes responsibility for developing and implementing UICC’s capacity building offer that spans four key components, Fund Management; Fellowships and Workshops; Resources; and Education, that build on the robust foundation of UICCs 60+ years in funding and coordinating fellowships, producing globally recognised resources such as the TNM classification of malignant tumours and newer platforms such as the International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP) Portal.

Education Manager

The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is strengthening the capacity of its Geneva team for implementation of the next phase of its organisational strategic plan. We are looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of Education Manager within the Capacity Building Team.

The Education Manager will work in collaboration with the Director of Capacity Building to conduct a landscape analysis and both develop and implement a strategy to strengthen and expand the current offer of educational tools available for UICC membership organisations and the broader cancer community in line with the overarching UICC goals.

Working across the UICC team and in partnership with multiple stakeholders, the Education Manager will create and manage education initiatives that empower cancer control professionals to continue developing their own skills for improved impact on the global cancer burden.

Fund Manager

The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is strengthening the capacity of its Geneva team for implementation of the next phase of its organisational strategic plan. We are looking for a motivated individual to fill the role of Fund Manager within the Capacity Building Team.

The Fund Manager will, under the direction of the Director of Capacity Building, manage, grow and promote individual UICC funds dedicated to capacity building. The role will include maintaining excellent relationships with fund partners and efficient distribution of the funds with corresponding governance, documentation and expert input drawn from the UICC team, members and partners.

The objectives of each fund will be in line with UICC advocacy messaging and the strategic plan.

Fellowships and Workshops Assistant

The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is strengthening the capacity of its Geneva team for implementation of the next phase of its organisational strategic plan. We are looking for three motivated individuals to fill the roles of Fellowships and Workshops Assistants within the Capacity Building Team.

The Fellowships and Workshops Assistant will assist the Fellowships and Workshops Manager with the successful delivery of the full range of UICC fellowships and workshops from initial enquiries from grant seekers to the closure of each award including monitoring and evaluation of the processes on a routine basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to combine strong organisational skills with an interest in training and capacity building in the global health and development space.
