The Cancer Atlas, 2nd Edition launched in Turkish

The Turkish version of the Cancer Atlas, 2nd Edition was launched on Tuesday 17 November in Istanbul, Turkey, at the World Cancer Leaders' Summit an event bringing together over 250 participants.

Key speakers at the launch event included Dr Suayib Yalcin, President of The Turkish Association for Cancer Research and Control (TACRC), Dr Guledal Boztas from the Ministry of Health, Turkey, Prof. Tezer Kutluk, President of The Union for International Cancer Control, Dr Ahmedin Jemal from the American Cancer Society and Dr Les Mery from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). Speakers highlighted key trends and opportunities in the region for cancer prevention and control, including in the areas of cancer registries and patient access to cancer care.

The Cancer Atlas is the result of a joint initiative between the American Cancer Society, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), and the Union for International Cancer Control to give the global cancer community a new tool in the fight against cancer. The Atlas provides leaders worldwide with actionable data and insights to make better decisions, in order to work toward putting an end to the cancer epidemic.

The Cancer Atlas, 2nd Edition is currently available in English, French, Spanish, Russian. The Atlas is being translated into Arabic, Chinese, and Farsi which will be launched in the coming months. For more information please contact: advocacy@uicc.org
