Cary Adams recognised with 2023 International Healthcare Leadership Award from NCHL

Acknowledged for his role in leadership development and contributions to global healthcare through his work at UICC, Cary Adams is set to formally receive the award in a ceremony on 14 November 2023 in Chicago.

Cary Adams, CEO of UICC, is the recipient of the 2023 International Healthcare Leadership Award by the National Center for Healthcare Leadership (NCHL). The award recognises his significant contributions to global healthcare and his dedication to fostering leadership within the sector.

Born in London, Dr Cary Adams has a BSc Honours degree in Economics, Computing and Statistics, a Masters degree (with Distinction) in Business Administration. He is a Harvard Business School Alumni and has received two honorary doctorates for International Relations and Health.  In 2009, Cary made a career change, moving from the management of international businesses in the banking sector to become CEO of UICC. He has since played a leadership role in the NCD Alliance

LeAnn Swanson, CEO of the National Center for Healthcare Leadership (NCHL), said that UICC’s work in developing leadership within the cancer community aligns with NCHL’s mission. “We’re pleased to award an admirable healthcare leader who has intentionally chosen to prioritise leadership development initiatives internally and with their partners globally,” she said. 

“The award reflects Cary’s outstanding leadership in the global healthcare arena and rightfully recognises his tireless dedication, visionary leadership, and significant contributions to improving healthcare worldwide.”

The official award presentation will be part of the 2023 Gail L. Warden Leadership Excellence Award Celebration, scheduled for 14 November 2023 in Chicago. The event is expected to bring together more than 250 healthcare industry professionals.
